The Senate of UP PEF at its 20th regular session, held on 7 June 2013, adopted the Vision of the development of artistic activities at UP PEF for the period 2013-2020 and the Strategy for the operation of the UP PEF in the field of artistic activity of UP PEF for the period 2013-2020, which are provided below.

The vision of the development of artistic activities at UP PEF for the period 2013-2020

The Faculty of Education of the University of Primorska will promote artistic activities and place them in the academic area as a specific, complementary and interdisciplinary field of creation, education, and research. It will provide the environment needed for the development of cultural and artistic concepts and artistic expression and creation. By encouraging the development of artistic potential of the individual and by achieving higher levels of creativity, the UP PEF will contribute to the creation of performance and surpluses in the scientific and artistic areas. The central orientations of the development of art forms will be rooted in the cultural and aesthetic norms and values ​​of creators and performers and in the freedom of artistic expression and activity. The contemporaneity of artistic expression and performance will be recognised in the artistic processes and performing achievements, as well as in the flow of new ideas, while nurturing cultural awareness and preserving cultural and artistic heritage and identity of the individual and of the nation.

The strategy of operation of UP PEF in the field of artistic activity of UP PEF for the period 2013-2020 will thus be focused on:

1. Providing formal bases and other conditions for the implementation of study programmes in the area of arts;
2. Activities to establish a group within the UP PEF Institute;
3. Organising art events, a biennale, symposia and other professional meetings, and publication of professional literature in the field of arts;
4. Identifying and developing the creative potential of students and raising the quality level of artistic activities for students;
5. Promoting and encouraging greater visibility of art in the academic area;
6. Facilitating education and freedom of artistic expression and involvement of faculty teachers and assistants in artistic activities;
7. Establishing links with cultural environment, professional public and cultural and educational institutions at local, national and international levels;
8.  Preserving aesthetic sensibility and raising the awareness of art as a cultural phenomenon and of arts as a value.
